What you will do

• Serve as the primary lead for state and local government affairs across the Southern United States.
• Build and maintain relationships with legislators, governors' offices, attorneys general, and state agency leaders.
• Track AI-related legislation and regulatory proceedings to inform company strategy and represent company positions.
• Develop regional messaging and engagement strategies tailored to Southern state political environments.
• Manage outside advisors and registered lobbyists within the region.
• Collaborate with policy, communications, and legal teams to align regional activity with global positioning.

Requirements

• Must be based in Texas or willing to relocate.
• Experience in state and local government affairs, political strategy, or legislative roles with proven outcomes.
• Existing relationships with leaders in Texas and other Southern states.
• Deep understanding of state legislative and regulatory procedures.
• Ability to translate complex technical AI topics into accessible language for policymakers.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to have

• 8+ years of experience in government affairs or political strategy.
• Exposure to technology policy or emerging technology regulation.
