What you will do

• Inspect, repair, and maintain diesel locomotive engines and mechanical components, including running gears and traction motors.
• Test and restore brake systems, safety appliances, couplers, air compressors, and fuel systems.
• Install, disassemble, assemble, and replace locomotive diesel engine components.
• Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance on tools, equipment, and locomotive components.
• Diagnose malfunctions in diesel engines, air equipment, and trucks.
• Work in a safety-sensitive environment under diverse and extreme weather conditions.

Requirements

• Work Authorization: Must be able to work without BNSF’s assistance (sponsorship) now and in the future
• Location: Ability to report for duty at the designated work location in Temple, TX
• Minimum age of 18 by the anticipated start date.
• Possess a valid state-issued driver’s license.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work at various heights on locomotives.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
