Engineering Manager, Hardware Platforms & Solutions (Mining Technology)

Location: Onsite in Tucson, Arizona, USA; travel up to 20–25% to supplier sites, test labs, manufacturing locations, hirify.global facilities, and mining sites.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end delivery of ruggedized electromechanical systems from concept through production, including computers, displays, GNSS, radios, Wi-Fi, sensor fusion, harnesses, and mounts.
• Manage systems, electrical, and mechanical engineers while architecting and integrating subsystems for harsh mining environments and IPX6 requirements.
• Build and develop multidisciplinary teams, establish KPIs, conduct performance reviews, and implement training plans.
• Set design standards, lead design reviews, and enforce product development, ISO 9001:2015, and ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 processes.
• Develop 1–3-year technology roadmaps, manage capital and operating budgets, forecast resources, and align delivery with corporate strategy.
• Manage suppliers, vendors, continuous-improvement initiatives, feasibility studies, testing, compliance, and technical risk mitigation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 8+ years of progressive engineering experience, including at least 3 years leading multidisciplinary product design teams for rugged or industrial products.
• Experience delivering end-to-end electromechanical systems involving PCB, GNSS, communications, sensor fusion, harnesses, and mounting.
• Hands-on expertise with CAD/ECAD tools such as SolidWorks and Altium, PLM tools, and embedded-systems fundamentals.
• Knowledge of IPX6 ruggedization, thermal management, EMC/EMI mitigation, and mining-grade environmental requirements.
• Onsite presence in Tucson, Arizona, USA is required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Engineering Management, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Systems Engineering.
• PMP or equivalent project-management certification.
• Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent continuous-improvement certification.
• Experience in mining, heavy equipment, or adjacent industries.
• Experience influencing in a matrixed, global organization.
