Electrical Engineering Manager (Drones)

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. The role requires access to ITAR/EAR-controlled data and is limited to U.S. Persons; candidates must not require sponsorship for export-restricted work authorization.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and manage the electrical engineering team, setting objectives, timelines, and accountability.
• Oversee electronic components, systems, and subsystems from concept through production, including embedded systems, battery management, motor control, and RF communications.
• Support innovative circuit and system designs that improve drone performance, efficiency, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Coordinate electronic system integration with mechanical, software, firmware, and manufacturing teams.
• Define and oversee testing, verification, product qualification, safety, reliability, and performance activities.
• Advise on technology trends, innovation opportunities, product roadmaps, regulatory compliance, and manufacturing scale-up.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 7 years of electrical engineering experience, including 4 years in a leadership role.
• Experience with PCB design, embedded electronics, signal processing, RF design, control systems, and flight-control embedded systems.
• Experience with CAD and PLM tools such as Altium and Arena.
• Experience managing engineering projects, schedules, budgets, resources, technical requirements, and new product introduction efforts.
• Must be eligible to access ITAR/EAR-controlled data as a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or other qualifying U.S. Person, without requiring sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience in the drone, aerospace, or closely related industry.
• Experience supporting manufacturing scale-up activities.
