Salary: $141,380 - $194,390 USD

What you will do
- Act as an SME in L-PBF alloy metallurgical evaluation and microstructure characterization to improve printed material capability.
- Define and execute material qualification test plans and generate corresponding material allowables for design.
- Perform process development and qualification for onboarding new materials and manufacturing processes.
- Write and maintain engineering specifications for materials, processes, and testing.
- Lead root cause investigations and support material-related quality monitoring tools.
- Collaborate within integrated product teams (IPTs) to provide material solutions for customer requirements.
Requirements
- Ability to lawfully access information and technology subject to US export controls.
- Bachelor’s degree in materials science, engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience executing material qualifications and writing technical specifications.
- 5+ years of experience working with hardware in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience interpreting aerospace and defense requirements, including AMS, ASTM, and MIL specifications.
- Expertise in additive manufacturing, metallurgy, heat treatment, or forgings/castings.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree or doctorate in materials science or engineering.
- Knowledge of fatigue and fracture behavior, including MMPDS fundamentals.
- Experience with NADCAP or other auditing methodologies.
- Familiarity with metallographic evaluation, powder characterization, and tensile testing.
- Proficiency with 3D Modeling in Teamcenter / NX.
