What you will do
- Lead the communications function for the global What Works II programme, shaping narratives and delivery of the evidence dissemination strategy.
- Translate complex research findings into accessible, audience-specific formats such as policy briefs, reports, and media content.
- Coordinate high-level events and conferences, including the development of briefing packages for donor engagements.
- Develop crisis communication frameworks, playbooks, and provide strategic guidance during high-profile reputational risks.
- Produce multimedia content, manage the quarterly newsletter, and track digital media metrics for donor reporting.
- Supervise the Social Media and Digital Officer, overseeing website management and social media platforms.
Requirements
- 6-8 years of professional experience in a similar communications role.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field.
- Legal right to work in the United Kingdom or Kenya.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Experience in humanitarian/development programming and operating in emergency contexts.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and experience with AI communication packages.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of French or Arabic.
- Experience working with quantitative and digital metrics data.
- Proficiency with digital analytics tools.
