Location: Remote. Must be based in the United States, United Kingdom, or Kenya. Preference for candidates in major hubs like NYC, SF, London, Nairobi, DC, LA, Chicago, Boston, Austin, or Amsterdam for in-person meetings.

Salary: Base salary ranges from $42,000 (Kenya) to $74,900 (US), plus 10% target bonus and country-specific benefits stipends.

What you will do

• Pitch programs and research to traditional media and non-traditional outlets including podcasts, newsletters, and YouTubers.
• Cultivate and manage long-term relationships with journalists, editors, producers, and public intellectuals.
• Conduct deep research on reporters and media outlets to ensure tailored and high-impact pitching.
• Develop and maintain AI-powered tools and automation for scalable media monitoring and research.
• Track media coverage and manage the outreach pipeline using Airtable and Salesforce.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of experience in communications, media, content marketing, journalism, or market research.
• Proven expertise in desk research and identifying opportunities within opaque industries.
• Strong familiarity with the United States media landscape and content creator ecosystem.
• Experience utilizing AI tools for research, writing, and workflow automation.
• Proficiency with CRMs (Salesforce) and data tools (Airtable).
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a journalist's mindset for storytelling.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Substack and voices in Effective Altruism (EA), tech, and finance.
• Experience managing influencer campaigns and partnerships.
• Knowledge of media markets in Europe and the Middle East.
• Residence in a major journalistic hub for in-person networking.
