Senior Automation Engineer (OT)

TL;DR

Senior Automation Engineer (OT): Developing, planning, and executing OT networks and infrastructure for mission-critical data center environments with an accent on cybersecurity, PLC programming, and SCADA system management. Location: Must be based on-site in Phoenix, AZ (3 days on-site, 2 days flexible)

What you will do

• Design, configure, and maintain OT networks using Cisco Stratix switches and industrial firewalls.
• Develop and support automation solutions using Rockwell Automation PLCs.
• Build and maintain SCADA systems using Inductive Automation Ignition.
• Implement security controls such as IDS and firewalls to protect OT environments.
• Collaborate with IT and OT teams to ensure secure integration between enterprise and plant-floor systems.
• Provide 24/7/365 tier 2 support for automation network issues on a rotating basis.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work on-site in Phoenix, AZ.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
• 5+ years of experience in OT Automation Engineering within industrial or critical infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of Rockwell Automation hardware and Inductive Automation Ignition.
• Deep understanding of industrial networking protocols (DLR, REP) and cybersecurity standards (ISA/IEC 62443).
• Ability to travel up to 25% as business needs evolve.

Nice to have

• Certifications in Rockwell Automation, Cisco Industrial Networking, or Ignition SCADA.
• Experience with virtualization, edge computing, and IIoT technologies.
• Knowledge of Python or JavaScript for automation and SCADA customization.
• Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) or hyperscale environments.
