What you will do

  • Design, program, configure, and commission machine control and packaging automation systems.
  • Develop PLC programs from scratch or adapt customer templates using Ladder Logic and Functional Block Diagrams.
  • Build FactoryTalk HMI solutions, including customized faceplates, historians, and alarm and event management.
  • Design control system networks and configure variable frequency drive and servo systems.
  • Support customers remotely with troubleshooting and post-construction program updates.
  • Lead engineering delivery for capital projects, managing scope, cost, schedule, risks, customers, contractors, and small project teams.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of machine controls or packaging experience in heavy industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency with Allen-Bradley PLC programming software, including RSLogix and Studio 5000, and Siemens SIMATIC STEP 7.
  • Experience with Ethernet, PROFINET, ControlNet, and DeviceNet control networks.
  • Experience with Rockwell and non-Rockwell variable frequency drive systems, servo systems, and safety control systems.
  • Associate degree or higher in Electronics Technology, Electrical Technology, or a related field; a bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience acting as a controls engineering lead for large capital projects and communicating with customers, contractors, and project teams.

Nice to have

  • Experience configuring and programming FANUC robotic systems.
  • Four-year degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience preparing and updating functional descriptions and process requirements.
