Automation Engineer III (Industrial Automation)

Location: Chesterfield, Missouri, USA; on-site. Some travel is required, typically 25%–50%.

What you will do

• Support industrial automation projects from conception through commissioning.
• Develop and customize PLC programs using Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms, including Ladder Logic and Functional Block Diagrams.
• Design and configure FactoryTalk HMIs, industrial control networks, variable frequency drives, servo systems, and safety control systems.
• Review, prepare, and update functional descriptions and process requirements.
• Lead engineering scope, cost, schedule, project risks, and small project teams.
• Support clients remotely with troubleshooting and program updates after construction.

Requirements

• On-site work in Chesterfield, Missouri, USA is required, with 25%–50% travel.
• At least 6 years of machine controls or packaging experience in heavy industrial or manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency with Allen-Bradley PLC programming software, including RSLogix and Studio 5000, and Siemens SIMATIC STEP 7.
• Experience with FactoryTalk HMI development, Ethernet, ProfiNet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, variable frequency drives, and servo systems.
• At least a two-year degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
• Experience leading control engineering work for large capital projects and managing small engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Experience configuring and programming Fanuc robotic systems.
• Experience developing solutions with a documented mathematical basis during the concept phase.
