What you will do

• Develop and maintain connectivity across Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Thread, Zigbee, and BLE protocols.
• Build secure device messaging systems using MQTT, CoAP, or WebSockets.
• Implement secure boot flows, certificate provisioning, and hardware-backed device identity.
• Manage signed firmware update pipelines, including OTA updates and rollback mechanisms.
• Integrate edge devices with cloud IoT platforms and define telemetry and observability standards.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and backend teams to deliver production-ready systems.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• 4+ years of experience building connected embedded products.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems with RTOS experience (Zephyr or FreeRTOS).
• Experience with Python for testing and automation.
• Solid understanding of IP networking and secure device communication (TLS, certificates).
• Practical debugging experience using lab tools like logic analyzers and protocol sniffers.

Nice to have

• Experience with low-power wireless technologies (Thread, Zigbee, BLE).
• Familiarity with cloud IoT services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Exposure to secure boot, TPMs, or hardware attestation.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity standards like IEC 62443 or ETSI EN 303 645.
• Experience with EMC/RF testing and factory validation processes.
