Underwriting Team Leader - UK Regions Property (Property Insurance)

What you will do

• Lead the UK Regions Property underwriting team across the Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, and Glasgow branch network.
• Drive growth, profitability, and strategic execution for the UK Regions Property and mid-market package portfolio.
• Build and maintain relationships with regional brokers and clients while supporting client and broker negotiations.
• Underwrite within delegated authority and provide guidance on underwriting issues, referrals, and regulatory requirements.
• Optimise team deployment, report financial performance, and deliver service-level and performance targets.

Requirements

• Significant commercial property underwriting experience, particularly in the middle-market sector.
• Strong technical insurance knowledge, including complex policy wordings, reinsurance, programme structuring, and legal or regulatory requirements.
• Team leadership and management experience with the ability to lead client and broker negotiations.
• Established local market relationships and a strong UK broker network.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred; ACII is an advantage.
• Strong communication, organisational, numerical, and IT skills.
