What you will do
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of the enterprise Energetics Safety Program and company-wide policies.
- Manage risks associated with energetic materials using PHAs, HAZOPs, FMEAs, and Quantity-Distance evaluations.
- Integrate energetics safety across engineering, manufacturing, and test operations throughout the product lifecycle.
- Ensure enterprise compliance with DoD explosives safety standards, ATF, OSHA, DOT, and NFPA requirements.
- Develop and maintain the Energetics Safety Training Program, including competency and qualification expectations.
- Lead investigations into incidents involving energetic materials to implement corrective and preventive actions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Occupational Safety, Chemistry, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
- 8+ years of experience supporting energetic materials or explosives operations in aerospace, defense, or high-hazard industries.
- Proven experience leading hazard analyses and risk assessments using qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
- Working knowledge of DoD explosives safety, ATF regulations, OSHA, DOT, and NFPA codes.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
Nice to have
- Experience with solid rocket motor manufacturing, propulsion systems, or missile programs.
- Experience with government test ranges, facility siting, or quantitative consequence modeling.
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM.
- Active Secret security clearance.
