Salary: $155,000 – $190,000

What you will do

• Own features end-to-end, from technical design and implementation to testing and production operations.
• Lead technical design by breaking down ambiguous problems into sequenced work and writing clear technical specifications.
• Maintain a high engineering bar by writing well-tested code and conducting thorough code and design reviews.
• Partner with Product, Design, and adjacent engineering teams to align on requirements and delivery plans.
• Mentor peer engineers through pairing, design feedback, and representing technical standards during hiring.
• Manage production systems through on-call rotations and proactively resolve root causes to reduce operational toil.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience shipping production systems at scale.
• Strong backend experience in Go, Java, Python, or Kotlin.
• Ability to work across the stack, including customer-facing interfaces using React and TypeScript.
• Experience designing secure and performant systems on AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Strong fundamentals in system design, including data modeling and API design.
• Must be based in or able to work from the Burnaby, BC office in a hybrid capacity.

• Experience in payments, fintech, or money movement.
