What you will do
- Lead a team of 3–5 development engineers for the Warfighter and Warhead Product Development Team.
- Oversee the design, development, qualification, and delivery of multiple projects within schedule and budget constraints.
- Ensure completion and quality of development milestone gates in accordance with company procedures.
- Drive rigorous engineering processes, standards, tools, root cause analysis, problem solving, and knowledge management.
- Support requirements review and verification, design evaluation, risk mitigation, drawing and test procedure reviews, design reviews, and proposal technical and cost reviews.
- Mentor and develop engineers while supporting customer interfaces, problem resolution, and team performance.
Requirements
- BS or MS degree in an engineering discipline; mechanical engineering is preferred.
- At least 5 years of product design and development experience.
- Experience with root cause analysis, leadership of multifunctional technical teams, project management, technical writing, and cost estimating.
- Ability to interpret and analyze mechanical specifications and data.
- Knowledge of explosive-material ordnance devices and/or missile or launch-vehicle systems, plus experience with manufacturing processes.
- Must have or be able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance and work on U.S. DoD and ITAR-restricted products.
