What you will do

• Lead and manage the Michigan Policy Fellowship, including facilitating monthly trainings and retreats.
• Coach teacher leaders to influence education policy through op-eds, testimony, and community organizing.
• Ensure rigorous fellow recruitment and selection to maintain a diverse, high-quality cohort.
• Cultivate strategic relationships with policymakers, district leaders, and local coalitions.
• Drive continuous program improvement by analyzing data on teacher experience and efficacy.
• Represent the organization at public events, hearings, and panels to advance policy priorities.

Requirements

• Must reside in Michigan with the ability to travel locally.
• 5–7 years of experience in education, policy, advocacy, or a related field.
• Proven track record of designing, managing, and scaling programs to achieve measurable impact.
• Strong knowledge of Michigan college- and career-readiness policies and systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse external audiences.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including 3-5 evenings per month and 2-3 weekends per year.

• Classroom teaching experience.
• Direct experience in legislative advocacy and systems change work.
