Product Engineer (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Milpitas, California, USA; travel to Beta sites is required

Salary: $117,800–$200,300 annually

What you will do

• Serve as the technical interface between software and hardware engineering, manufacturing, technical support, quality, marketing, and field organizations throughout the product life cycle.
• Improve product serviceability, reliability, diagnostics, system performance, and cost of service from early design through sustaining operations.
• Support Alpha and Beta system integration, serviceability validation, new tool installations, upgrades, and product escalations at customer sites.
• Develop troubleshooting action plans, service documentation, tooling, knowledge-management content, scripts, and training for customer and technical support teams.
• Define spare-parts strategies, preventative maintenance schedules, cost-of-service models, and service offerings.
• Support new-product introduction best practices and product obsolescence or transfer to Service Supply Chain Management.

Requirements

• Doctorate with no related work experience, or a master’s degree with 3 years of related experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 5 years of related experience.
• Strong knowledge of overall system operation, system integration, and system calibration.
• Expertise in structured troubleshooting, diagnostics, reliability, serviceability, and product life-cycle practices.
• Ability to analyze data from multiple sources and create executable action plans for customer and technical support engineers.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, quality, marketing, field, and support organizations.
• Ability to travel to Beta sites and customer locations for installations, upgrades, and escalation support.
