What you will do

• Conduct patent mining sessions with product engineering teams to identify innovative technologies.
• Supervise outside counsel in all aspects of patent prosecution, including drafting and appeals.
• Provide strategic recommendations to leadership regarding patentable inventions.
• Educate engineering teams on the importance of intellectual property and the patent program.
• Manage patent portfolio systems and evaluate the use of AI tools for portfolio management.
• Ensure patent claims align with business objectives and maintain high quality and breadth.

Requirements

• Registered and in good standing to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
• Minimum of four years of experience in patent prosecution and portfolio management.
• Experience in software, cloud computing, hybrid cloud, or AI-enabled technologies.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to engineers and stakeholders.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid environment in Morrisville, NC or Wichita, KS.
