Senior DevOps Engineer (Lunar Permanence)

Location: Greater Seattle Area, United States

Salary: $181,626–$254,275 for Colorado applicants; $197,529–$276,539 for Washington applicants. Other site ranges may differ.

What you will do

• Lead architectural discussions and define scalable, secure DevOps practices for lunar mission systems.
• Design monitoring solutions, dashboards, and reports to improve system reliability, performance, and engineering efficiency.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for avionics software deployed to development hardware, simulated environments, and hardware-in-the-loop systems.
• Automate deployments, reduce manual intervention, and audit pipelines for compliance with industry standards.
• Operate and improve Kubernetes infrastructure, including RKE2 clusters, Rancher management, and Longhorn distributed storage.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, pair programming, technical workshops, and guidance on CI/CD best practices.

Requirements

• BS or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of professional experience in DevOps or a related engineering field.
• Professional experience with Linux, Docker, CI/CD, GitLab, Python, AWS, Infrastructure as Code, and software-defined networking.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Rancher, RKE2, Longhorn, hybrid on-premises/cloud infrastructure, and tools including Alloy, Loki, Prometheus, Consul, and Vault.
• Experience with safety-critical software development, monitoring, pipeline analysis, code reviews, and compliance processes.
• Applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals, U.S. permanent residents, or lawfully admitted refugees or asylees.

Nice to have

• Leadership of complex DevOps projects involving multiple stakeholders.
• Experience with C/C++, Ansible, Agile methodologies, aerospace systems, safety-critical software, or NPR 7150.2D.
