TL;DR
QMS Manager (Quality Management): Leading the design, maintenance, and continual improvement of ’s ISO 9001-compliant Quality Management System with an accent on document governance, audit readiness, and organizational compliance. Focus on leading the transition to ISO 9001:2026, influencing senior stakeholders, and ensuring robust quality controls across a high-stakes, zero-error environment.
Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Manchester for hybrid work (2 days per week in office)
Salary: £55,700 - £63,100

What you will do
- Own and improve the ISO 9001-compliant QMS, including certification management and external audit preparation.
- Lead the organization-wide transition programme to the ISO 9001:2026 standard.
- Provide expert leadership on corporate document management, quality performance indicators, and assurance.
- Influence senior leaders and cross-functional teams to embed quality, risk management, and continuous improvement.
- Line manage, coach, and develop the QMS Coordinator to ensure team objectives are met.
- Report on QMS effectiveness and compliance to senior leadership and governance forums.
Requirements
- Expert knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems in complex organizations.
- Significant experience managing ISO 9001 certification and external audits.
- Strong background in document governance, versioning, and control principles.
- Proven ability to lead organization-wide change through influence and matrix working.
- Experience in line management, coaching, and developing colleagues.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex quality concepts to non-specialists.
Nice to have
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or equivalent qualification.
- Quality or continuous improvement qualification (e.g., Lean or Six Sigma).
- Experience operating in a regulated or high-stakes assurance environment.
