Centre Manager

What you will do

• Run the day-to-day operation of the Birmingham training centre, including facilities, scheduling, budget, and team management.
• Lead and line-manage the training team.
• Own the quality-management system and independently sample and verify trainers’ assessment decisions.
• Act as the named contact for awarding bodies and lead the centre through approval and ongoing audits.
• Build and maintain compliance frameworks covering health and safety, safeguarding, data protection, equality and diversity, malpractice, and appeals.
• Lead continuous improvement and health and safety across practical gas and electrical work.

Requirements

• Level 4 Internal Quality Assurance qualification, such as IQA/V1 or equivalent.
• Level 3 Award in Education and Training and a recognised assessing qualification, such as TAQA or CAVA.
• Experience managing a training centre, workshop, or similar technical/vocational operation, including people and budget management.
• Hands-on technical experience in smart metering, electrical work, EV installation, heat pumps, solar, or BESS.
• Experience owning compliance and quality standards for a training or technical operation, plus health and safety leadership experience.

Nice to have

• IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent health and safety management qualification.
• Electrician experience or a JIB Gold Card.
• Experience taking a training centre through awarding-body approval.
