Network Engineer (End Device)

TL;DR

Network Engineer (End Device): Maintaining and optimizing complex data networks and RF systems for critical broadcast and utility infrastructure with an accent on system compliance, fault resolution, and continuous operational improvement. Focus on performing technical maintenance, managing third-party suppliers, and ensuring high availability of network services.

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Emley Moor, UK (Hybrid role)

Salary: Up to £43,000 plus 20% shift allowance

What you will do

• Perform planned maintenance and testing on network systems to ensure regulatory and industry compliance.
• Respond to faults and service outages, conducting corrective maintenance according to company standards.
• Implement system upgrades and modifications to existing network infrastructure.
• Provide technical advice and support for project delivery, installation, and service transition.
• Supervise third-party suppliers and contractors to ensure work meets technical specifications.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for all engineering actions taken.

Requirements

• Must be able to obtain SC Clearance within 3 months of starting.
• Higher Education or professional qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Strong understanding of digital principles, including signals, modulation, multiplexing, and fibre optics.
• Experience with system architecture, design, and maintenance of complex data networks.
• Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental legislation relevant to engineering operations.
• Ability to conduct complex measurements and evaluate results using specialized test equipment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Solarwinds, vROPS, vRNI, SPLUNK, or Cisco routers.
• Familiarity with Linux environments and Log Insight.
• Experience with ServiceNow FSM and Incident Management.
