TL;DR

Principal Software Engineer (Platform Engineering): Own the multi-year technical strategy and architectural direction for a modeling platform across Modeling, Orchestration, Identity/State Management, AI, and Frontend & Design Systems with an accent on distributed systems at scale and platform coherence across multiple teams. Focus on designing unified platform contracts/APIs and leading the delivery of the platform’s most impactful projects while staying hands-on in code and technical execution.

What you will do

• Set and drive the multi-year technical strategy and architectural direction for the Platform across Modeling, Orchestration, Identity/State Management, AI, and FEDS.
• Make high-impact technology choices and build alignment across engineering using architecture docs, strategy memos, decision records, and RFCs.
• Ensure architectural coherence across 7+ Platform teams so independently built systems compose into a unified platform with consistent contracts, APIs, and quality standards.
• Lead delivery of the Platform’s most impactful projects as a hands-on technical leader, balancing end-customer experience and internal developer ergonomics.
• Partner with senior leadership to connect platform investments to business outcomes like customer time-to-value and product velocity.
• Coach Staff and Senior engineers to expand strategic scope and organizational impact.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in platform engineering and distributed systems at scale, including foundational infrastructure used by multiple product teams.
• Proven ability to set and drive technical strategy at org/company level with multi-year impact tied to customer outcomes and business value.
• Ability to lead by influence across organizational boundaries and align teams with competing priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable producing and using architecture docs, strategy memos, decision records, and RFCs.
• Hands-on excellence: write code, lead delivery, and stay credibly technical.

Nice to have

• Experience with enterprise-scale computation or modeling platforms (e.g., spreadsheet engines, formula evaluation, financial modeling, OLAP).
• Experience with platform-level state management abstractions (branching, versioning, diff/review/approve, audit).
• Deep expertise in data orchestration (ETL pipelines, workflow engines, event-driven architectures, CDC systems).
• Experience building AI/agent platforms or integrating AI into enterprise products.
• Experience in B2B SaaS growth or platform transformation and familiarity with regulated-industry security/compliance requirements (e.g., SOX, HIPAA).
