Data Architect (AI)

TL;DR

Data Architect (Enterprise Data): Designing and building scalable enterprise data foundations with an accent on data governance, security, and cloud architecture. Focus on establishing architecture patterns for batch and streaming integration and enabling generative AI and RAG use cases.

Location: Hybrid in Los Angeles, California (3 days onsite). Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship provided).

What you will do

• Define current and future-state data architecture across enterprise platforms and cloud/hybrid environments.
• Establish standards for data ingestion, storage, transformation, modeling, metadata, lineage, and governance.
• Create architecture patterns for batch, streaming, event-driven, and API-based data integration.
• Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned with business and technical requirements.
• Assess existing platforms to identify gaps in scalability, quality, security, and accessibility.
• Support data architectures that enable analytics, generative AI, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data architecture, enterprise data platforms, or data engineering.
• Proven expertise in designing scalable enterprise data foundations and data modeling.
• Proficiency with modern platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift, or Synapse.
• Experience architecting solutions in AWS, Azure, GCP, or hybrid cloud environments.
• Must be based in the Los Angeles area.
• Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting generative AI, RAG, or agentic AI initiatives.
• Familiarity with vector databases, embeddings, semantic layers, or knowledge graphs.
• Experience with data products, data contracts, or domain-oriented architecture.
• Previous consulting or client-facing experience.
