Automation Architect (DevSecOps)

Location: Adelaide, Australia. Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance (NV1 level).

What you will do

• Lead the technical direction of DevSecOps teams and provide architectural guidance on specification, design, implementation, and deployment.
• Act as the Product Owner for the Continuous Delivery Pipeline (CDP) and other associated systems.
• Formulate and communicate technology roadmaps to meet identified infrastructure needs and opportunities.
• Design and implement automation strategies, workflow improvements, and tool selection.
• Coordinate with global engineering teams to ensure product alignment and security compliance.
• Mentor and coach DevSecOps teams to ensure designs align with industry best practices.

Requirements

• Mandatory Australian citizenship.
• Ability to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance (preferably NV1).
• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Demonstrated experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and containerized applications.
• Experience with Ansible, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, and Linux administration.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) Information Security Manual (ISM) controls.
• Experience with Agile principles, practices, and processes.
• Experience managing the Atlassian Datacenter suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).
