Production Engineer (Python/Linux)

What you will do

• Design and develop Python and Bash scripts to monitor the health, performance, and dependencies of a mission-critical production environment.
• Monitor and support a highly distributed Linux-based trading system.
• Partner with Platform Engineering on server imaging, testing, deployment, and system configuration.
• Coordinate production issues and new system setups with trading, network, security, market data, and platform teams.
• Provide multi-level production support for traders, strategists, and quantitative researchers.
• Improve system reliability, automation, and operational efficiency across the trading stack.

Requirements

• Full working rights in Australia.
• Strong hands-on experience with Linux/Unix systems.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting.
• Experience supporting production or mission-critical systems in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication, troubleshooting, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services or trading environments.
• Understanding of financial instruments and markets.
