Mechanical Design Engineer III (SolidWorks)

Location: Onsite in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada; Monday–Friday at the manufacturing facility

Salary: $80,000–$90,000 CAD per year

What you will do

• Design, fabricate, and validate production automation tools and equipment used to test and calibrate electronics.
• Maintain, repair, and improve current test fixtures, apparatus, and jigs.
• Identify manufacturing process improvements and develop value-added solutions.
• Create test procedures, checklists, product requirements, build instructions, and technical documentation.
• Support new product integration, manufacturing feasibility, process development, prototype and acceptance runs, COGS models, and standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and new product development engineering through project planning and update meetings.

Requirements

• Technologist diploma or bachelor's degree in mechanical, mechatronics, electrical/electronic, or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical design, fabrication, testing, and validation.
• Experience with 3D CAD software; SolidWorks is strongly preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical information clearly.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment using critical thinking and sound judgment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.

Nice to have

• Understanding of PCB electronics design and manufacturing processes.
• Altium Designer experience.
• Software development fundamentals and experience with C/C++, Python, LabView, or Java.
