Systems Engineer I

TL;DR

Systems Engineer I (Managed IT): Supporting customer infrastructure and desktop computing through incident, request, and change management processes with an accent on server, workstation, and cloud environment maintenance. Focus on troubleshooting technical issues, documenting system configurations, and delivering exceptional customer support within an MSP environment.

Location: Must be based in Bolingbrook, Illinois (Onsite)

Salary: $75,000–$90,000

What you will do

• Provide technical assistance for customer environments, including server, workstation, and cloud-related incidents.
• Monitor infrastructure using alert management platforms and follow documented troubleshooting procedures.
• Document technical work, resolutions, and operational procedures in HaloPSA.
• Assist with backup, patch management, and routine system administration tasks.
• Maintain professional communication with customers, internal teams, and third-party vendors.
• Participate in scheduled after-hours, on-call rotations for urgent client incidents.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or systems administration.
• Foundational knowledge of virtualization, server administration, cloud technologies, and networking concepts.
• Working knowledge of Windows Server, VMware, Active Directory, Azure, and Microsoft 365.
• Strong communication and time-management skills with a customer-service focus.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and work under pressure.

Nice to have

• MSP experience and familiarity with ITIL service management.
• Experience with N-able RMM or similar monitoring tools.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+, or Microsoft Azure Fundamentals.
