Civil Specialist (Telecommunications)

Location: Onsite in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Travel throughout the province is required, including occasional overnight travel, with travel of up to 10%.

What you will do

• Investigate, plan, and resolve civil infrastructure deficiencies, repairs, and maintenance activities across the wireless network.
• Conduct site visits, inspections, and assessments to validate project scope and compliance with company and industry standards.
• Develop Statements of Work, obtain contractor quotes, manage tenders, and oversee projects from initiation through completion.
• Coordinate tower, HVAC, fire system, and site infrastructure maintenance programs and corrective actions.
• Support capital infrastructure upgrades by preparing estimates, managing budgets, and coordinating with Engineering, Network Services, Procurement, and Field Operations.
• Manage contractors, vendors, purchase orders, invoicing, cost controls, reporting, documentation, and safety compliance.

Requirements

• Knowledge of civil engineering technology.
• Experience managing civil infrastructure, construction, facilities, or telecommunications projects.
• Experience with contractor management, project coordination, budgeting, cost control, site inspections, and scopes of work.
• Strong understanding of health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and project tracking systems.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the province.

Nice to have

• Telecommunications or wireless network infrastructure experience.
• Knowledge of tower, rooftop, HVAC, fire alarm, and site infrastructure systems.
• Experience working with landlords, utility companies, engineering consultants, and external vendors.
