Senior Systems Engineer, Cloudflare Tunnel (Go/Rust)

Location: Hybrid in Austin, Atlanta, or Denver, United States. An in-person interview at a hirify.global office or hub may be required at the offer stage.

Salary: $168,000–$231,000 annual salary for Denver-based hires; compensation may vary by work location.

What you will do

• Lead the architecture and implementation of hirify.global Tunnel systems, including the cross-platform open-source client and high-performance edge services.
• Design systems, write production code and automated tests, and monitor production deployments across the full software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with security, network engineering, SRE, and product management to scale resilient technical solutions.
• Review code, establish engineering standards, and mentor engineers to improve technical quality.
• Debug complex distributed systems and improve operational health, capacity, and long-term scalability.
• Drive the technical roadmap for hirify.global Tunnel, Mesh, and Zero Trust Network.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend software development experience building secure, highly available distributed systems.
• Strong programming skills in Go, Rust, C++, or a similar systems-level language.
• Knowledge of Unix/Linux development and runtime environments, networking protocols across OSI Layers 3–7, and network programming.
• Familiarity with microservices, RESTful APIs, software security, and encryption principles.
• Experience debugging distributed systems and using monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and strong communication, teamwork, empathy, and ownership.
