What you will do

• Own technical initiatives and define the architecture for complex embedded systems using RTOS, Embedded Linux, or baremetal.
• Architect and validate firmware from requirements through to production.
• Develop scalable, high-quality, and secure embedded software adhering to TDD principles.
• Break down large engineering efforts into parallel tasks and contribute to the overall team roadmap.
• Define unit, integration, and simulated/hardware test frameworks to facilitate development.
• Provide technical mentorship and maintain quality through rigorous peer reviews.

Requirements

• Expert knowledge of C/POSIX and object-oriented design for resource-constrained systems.
• Proven experience with preemptive multitasking RTOS or multi-threaded Embedded Linux systems.
• Deep understanding of microcontroller design, electronics, and communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN).
• Mastery of ARM/RISC-V architectures and SoCs (STM32, NXP, Renesas).
• Proficiency in Python or Bash scripting and SQL.
• Must be based in or be eligible to work in Oakville or Waterloo, Canada.
