Senior Software Architect (RISC-V Embedded Systems)

Annual base salary: $107,000–$226,000 USD

What you will do

• Define the end-to-end software architecture for next-generation 64-bit RISC-V multi-processor SoC platforms.
• Ensure the software foundation meets real-time, performance, reliability, and security requirements.
• Establish coding standards, architectural guidelines, requirements management, and end-to-end traceability.
• Lead architecture and technical review forums while mentoring engineering teams.
• Oversee software design, implementation, verification evidence, and objective lifecycle records.
• Represent the architecture in customer discussions and partner with Marketing and Applications teams on product strategy.

Requirements

• Extensive experience architecting high-reliability embedded systems and building platforms from scratch.
• Background in avionics or automotive development with strong requirements traceability and evidence-based delivery experience.
• Expertise in RTOS, multi-processor architectures, and low-level programming with C/C++ and Python.
• Ability to mentor engineering teams and communicate complex technical concepts to customers.
• Full-time availability and ability to work in Burnaby, Canada.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with DO-178C/ED-12C or ISO 26262/ASPICE.
• Hands-on experience with RISC-V architectures and embedded Linux in mixed-workload systems.
• Experience with systems engineering and hardware/software co-design workflows.
• Interest in using AI-assisted tools for development, review, and documentation.
