Field Engineer (AI)

Location: Public sector and federal customer projects; an active TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary: $180,550–$226,550 USD and $150,400–$188,000 USD annually, depending on location and qualifications.

What you will do

• Build end-to-end data integrations connecting customer data with Scale's platform.
• Optimize customer data pipelines, including API endpoint design and input/output schemas.
• Design playbooks, internal tools, documentation, and SDKs for long-term customer success.
• Partner with Engineering and Operations to debug delivery issues, resolve technical blockers, and manage escalations.
• Work with Account Executives and Product Managers to identify customer-specific feature requests.
• Develop expertise in large language models, 2D image annotation, and API integrations while representing Scale at major events.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• Experience as a customer-facing engineer or in a similar hybrid role.
• Hands-on client-facing technical experience in pre-sales or post-sales environments.
• Development experience with Python, JavaScript, or another modern programming language.
• Strong engineering background, preferably in computer science, mathematics, or another quantitative field.
• Strong project management, interpersonal, presentation, and cross-functional communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in AI or classified environments.
• Technical go-to-market experience.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps, secure software delivery, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Helm charts, Ansible, or similar infrastructure automation tools.
