Senior Construction Manager (Food Production)

Location: United States (remote); approximately 50% travel required.

Salary: $140,000–$175,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Lead multiple concurrent expansions, retrofits, adaptive reuse projects, and new developments across different markets.
• Own budgets, schedules, risk assessments, permitting strategies, execution plans, and project delivery from due diligence through operational handoff.
• Manage general contractors, subcontractors, consultants, vendors, landlords, and owner’s representatives.
• Lead procurement, competitive bidding, contractor selection, contract negotiations, change-order reviews, and value engineering.
• Coordinate architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire-protection, refrigeration, and food-production systems.
• Oversee permitting, inspections, commissioning, punch-list completion, closeout documentation, and facility readiness for launch.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of experience managing commercial construction projects.
• Direct experience delivering food-production facilities, commercial kitchens, food-manufacturing environments, or comparable food and beverage projects.
• Experience managing projects from preconstruction and due diligence through construction, commissioning, turnover, and closeout.
• Proven experience managing multiple projects, large budgets, schedules, contractors, procurement, negotiations, risks, and value engineering.
• Working knowledge of architectural, civil, structural, and MEP construction, including refrigeration, kitchen equipment, and utilities.
• Ability to travel approximately 50% and coordinate permitting, inspections, regulatory approvals, and occupancy requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with large-scale food-production, cold-storage, industrial-processing, fulfillment, or distribution facilities.
• Experience with design-build or construction-manager-at-risk delivery models.
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, AutoCAD, Revit, PlanGrid, or comparable tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as PE, RA, PMP, CCM, LEED, or GC.
