Manager, Software Engineering (DevSecOps)

Location: San Diego, California, United States; work in an office and production environment required. Occasional travel within the Continental U.S. may be required.

Salary: $117,500–$179,250 per year

What you will do

• Lead a team of software QA, automation, and DevOps engineers, including staffing, budgeting, training, performance management, and career development.
• Define team roles, operating practices, quality strategy, automation frameworks, and CI/CD and lab infrastructure across programs.
• Own QA standards, quality metrics, reporting, bug review processes, and go/no-go release recommendations.
• Identify, track, and mitigate software risks while coordinating with software engineering, system test, program, and information security teams.
• Coordinate scope, scheduling, and resourcing in an Agile environment and interact with senior management and customers.

Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent education, training, and experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience with a strong background in software quality, test automation, or DevOps/CI-CD.
• At least 2 years of experience supervising or technically leading a team.
• Experience defining test strategies, automation frameworks, and quality processes for complex software.
• Experience with Git or GitLab, CI pipelines, containerization, and Linux environments.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or qualifying asylee/refugee, and be able to obtain a security clearance. U.S. person status is required for ITAR/EAR-controlled information.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree.
• Experience testing embedded, robotics, UAS, safety-critical, or mission-critical software.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps and hardware-in-the-loop lab or test infrastructure.
• Experience with AI-assisted development and test tooling.
