Engineering Manager, Proactive Security - Platform

Location: Remote position limited to the United States or Canada; the listing also specifies San Francisco, CA.

Salary: $193,800–$285,000 USD annually, plus potential equity grants.

What you will do

• Set the technical vision for the Security Engineering Platform team across AWS and GCP account and workload hardening.
• Own the hardening roadmap for tier-0 cloud infrastructure and access services, including Access, Identity, Teleport, HashiCorp Vault, and tokenization.
• Coach tech leads and engineers while contributing hands-on to cloud hardening, identity, and secrets-management challenges.
• Partner with Core Infrastructure, Compute, Data, and other engineering platform teams to secure shared cloud and access infrastructure.
• Build operational excellence practices for tier-0 platforms, including on-call rotations, escalation paths, incident response, and root cause analysis.
• Enable secure adoption of AI tooling and agentic workflows from a platform hardening and access-control perspective.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience as a Security or Infrastructure Platform Engineer at an internet-scale organization.
• 3+ years of technical leadership experience leading teams at global scale.
• Hands-on expertise hardening AWS and/or GCP environments, including account structures, guardrails, workload and network posture, and golden image pipelines.
• Experience operating access and secrets infrastructure such as Teleport, HashiCorp Vault, or equivalent privileged-access and secrets-management platforms.
• Experience running highly available, no-downtime platform services with mature on-call, incident-response, and root-cause-analysis practices.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Security Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
