DevOps Engineer II (AI)

Location: San Diego, California, United States; office or field testing environment

Salary: $82,000–$125,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines for building, testing, and delivering software.
• Build and maintain ARM64 and amd64 Docker images, multistage Dockerfiles, and development containers.
• Administer GitLab, CI runners, Kubernetes-based runners, source control, and automation tools.
• Maintain lab, test, build, and development environments, including hardware and hardware-in-the-loop systems.
• Automate manual processes and implement infrastructure as code where appropriate.
• Integrate DevSecOps practices, including SAST, SBOM generation, dependency and artifact management, and secure builds.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or equivalent education, training, and experience.
• 2–5 years of experience managing DevOps operations and tools, including GitLab CI, GitHub, Artifactory, Xray, branching, tagging, merging, and release management.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, multistage builds, Docker Compose, and development containers.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting, plus Linux administration with systems such as RHEL and Ubuntu.
• Must hold or be able to obtain a Secret security clearance.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or qualifying protected individual, and must meet U.S. person requirements for ITAR/EAR-controlled information.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes, EKS, Ansible, Terraform, DevSecOps, STIGs, and ATO processes.
• Experience managing lab and test hardware or hardware-in-the-loop environments.
• Exposure to embedded, robotics, UAS, or ROS-based software builds.
• Networking or security certifications and an advanced degree.
• Experience using AI-assisted tooling for infrastructure and pipeline automation.
