DevOps Engineer (Kubernetes)

Location: Onsite at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia, United States, five days a week; occasional travel required

What you will do

• Support the development and deployment of AWS cloud infrastructure, especially EKS.
• Develop and operate non-cloud edge infrastructure for on-premise and portable equipment.
• Automate deployment processes and manage Kubernetes containers and cloud infrastructure.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems while improving service reliability, scalability, availability, and performance.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications into the infrastructure.
• Help maintain the workspace during regular business hours and travel occasionally as required.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI U.S. Government security clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.
• At least 5 years of DevOps Engineering or Software Development experience with a related bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent education and experience combination.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, AWS services including EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, and Lambda, and configuration management with Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience deploying, scaling, and managing applications, containers, and operating systems; proficiency with Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
• Ability to develop with Python, Bash, or Go and familiarity with Git, Flux, and terminal-based environments.
• DoD 8140/8570 compliance certification such as Security+, or the ability to obtain one within the first few months of employment.

Nice to have

• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Accumulo, Ceph, Spark, NiFi, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, or Presto.
• Experience with K9s, AWS CLI, SNS, SQS, or Diode.
