What you will do

• Lead and manage a team of engineers in power systems modeling and analytics.
• Create and maintain transmission short circuit and power flow models using industry-standard software.
• Perform arc flash hazard calculations and thermal ampacity ratings for utility equipment.
• Develop automation scripts using Python, SQL, and VBA to enhance analysis efficiency.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and client communications.
• Mentor and train junior engineers on power engineering principles and technical standards.

Requirements

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering theories and principles.
• 5+ years of experience working at an electric utility.
• Must be authorized to work in the US.
• Proficiency in power systems modeling software such as CAPE, ASPEN, PSSE, PSCAD, CYME, or PLS-CADD.
• Strong communication skills for client interaction and team leadership.

Nice to have

• People management and mentorship experience.
• Knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, NERC, and FERC regulations.
• Experience directing and reviewing work for quality assurance.
