What you will do

• Write, edit, and gather multimedia content for print, digital, broadcast, and video services.
• Cover breaking news, including awards shows and industry announcements, with speed and accuracy.
• Monitor news outlets and social media to stay current on the Canadian arts scene.
• Maintain a network of sources within the arts, PR, and entertainment industries.
• Pitch daily news briefs, features, and video opportunities.
• Manage time effectively to balance feature writing with breaking news demands.

Requirements

• Minimum five years of experience in a newsroom.
• Proven experience reporting across multiple platforms including video, broadcast, print, and online.
• Strong news judgment and commitment to accuracy and fairness.
• Ability to work independently and within a team under tight deadline pressures.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of CP Style Book and Caps and Spelling.
