Data Product & Platform Operations Engineer (Microsoft Fabric)

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate end-to-end enterprise data products on Microsoft Fabric across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers.
• Develop reusable pipelines, metadata-driven ingestion frameworks, notebook libraries, templates, and standardized delivery patterns.
• Implement data contracts, metadata standards, ownership models, lifecycle management, cataloging, lineage, classification, and data quality controls.
• Build operational dashboards for platform health, pipeline performance, refresh monitoring, usage analytics, incidents, and cost visibility.
• Establish SLAs, SLOs, incident management processes, runbooks, and continuous service improvement practices.
• Drive FinOps activities including capacity monitoring, cost allocation, showback reporting, anomaly detection, and optimization recommendations.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant Data Engineering experience, including exposure to platform operations or data governance.
• Hands-on experience with PySpark or Spark, SQL, Python, pipeline orchestration, scripting, and automation.
• Practical experience with Microsoft Fabric, or strong experience with Azure Databricks or Azure Synapse Analytics and the ability to transition to Fabric.
• Experience with Lakehouse architecture, notebooks, pipelines, OneLake or equivalent data platform concepts, incremental loading, CDC, and event-driven ingestion.
• Experience building reusable frameworks and scalable data products, plus implementing governance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational reporting.
• Ability to collaborate with engineering teams, governance stakeholders, business users, and domain teams.
