Global Lead Buyer (Logistics)

Location: Must be based in or able to relocate to Wrocław, Poland (Hybrid: 1-2 days/week in office).

What you will do

• Develop and execute global ocean freight sourcing strategies and long-term supplier roadmaps.
• Lead global sourcing initiatives, RFQs, and contract negotiations for multimodal transportation.
• Manage strategic relationships with ocean carriers, NVOCCs, and freight forwarders.
• Negotiate freight rates, capacity agreements, and service levels to ensure business continuity.
• Monitor freight markets, capacity trends, and geopolitical developments to support sourcing decisions.
• Drive supplier performance management and sustainability initiatives across the global logistics network.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of experience in strategic procurement or category management of ocean freight and international transportation.
• Strong knowledge of international container shipping, freight forwarding, and transportation economics.
• Proficiency in Incoterms 2020, FIATA standards, and maritime regulations (IMO, FuelEU, EU ETS).
• Experience with procurement and analytics systems such as SAP TM, Coupa, or Transporeon.
• Fluent English required; German or Spanish is considered an advantage.
• Willingness to travel internationally.

Nice to have

• Experience with Xeneta, Freightos, Jira, or Power BI.
• Knowledge of customs processes and international trade requirements.
