Staff Product Manager (Fintech)

Location: San Francisco, United States

Salary: $190,000–$270,000 per year, plus equity and bonus opportunities.

What you will do

• Define product strategy for major areas of the lending platform, including embedded and first-party lending.
• Lead high-impact initiatives across origination, underwriting, servicing, repayment, partner enablement, and portfolio optimisation.
• Evaluate markets, customer segments, and product opportunities, translating them into multi-quarter roadmaps and execution plans.
• Partner with engineering, design, data, commercial, credit risk, legal, compliance, finance, and operations leaders.
• Balance growth, unit economics, customer experience, operational scalability, and risk performance.
• Build scalable product frameworks and operating models, work with external financial stakeholders, and mentor product managers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience, including substantial product management experience in fintech, financial services, lending, or another complex regulated domain.
• Experience leading large, ambiguous product areas from strategy through execution and measurable business impact.
• Deep experience building, scaling, or significantly evolving lending, credit, or embedded finance products.
• Strong commercial and analytical judgment, with the ability to balance customer needs, business performance, and risk.
• Ability to influence senior cross-functional stakeholders, communicate strategy and trade-offs clearly, and work effectively across cultures and functions.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher with strong academic achievement.

Nice to have

• Experience across both embedded lending and first-party lending.
• Experience with credit risk, underwriting models, capital structures, or funding partnerships.
• Knowledge of SME banking, lending regulations, and market structure in global markets.
• Experience launching zero-to-one products and scaling them in high-growth environments.
• Background in software engineering, quantitative disciplines, finance, strategy, or consulting, plus experience mentoring product managers.
