TL;DR

Process Engineer (Aerospace Manufacturing): Supporting the Aerospace Manufacturing Center of Excellence in bulk manufacturing and packaging with an accent on process optimization, safety compliance, and operational excellence. Focus on implementing Lean Six Sigma initiatives, managing Process Safety Management (PSM) activities, and leading capital improvement projects.

Location: On-site in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. Note: 30-50% travel required for the first 6 months to CA and GA for onboarding.

Salary: $90,000 - $110,000

What you will do

  • Provide technical leadership for bulk manufacturing, material handling, and packaging processes to improve throughput and yield.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to eliminate waste and reduce process variation.
  • Manage Process Safety Management (PSM) activities, including Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), MOC, and PSSR.
  • Design, justify, and implement capital improvement projects to increase manufacturing capacity.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Technical teams to ensure product consistency and support the commercialization of new products.
  • Facilitate root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for process failures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting process improvement and manufacturing optimization.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.

Nice to have

  • 5+ years of experience in specialty chemicals, adhesives, polymers, or related industries.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with process controls, automation systems (PLCs, DCS), and SAP.
  • Knowledge of aerospace-specific manufacturing processes and OSHA PSM environments.
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC) and process capability analysis experience.
