Field Service Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Denver, CO; must be located near Denver. Requires 30–60% travel, including short-notice field deployments.

What you will do

• Serve as the primary technical contact for customers integrating payloads onto stratospheric balloon platforms.
• Guide customer planning, interface definition, payload preparation, environmental testing, and flight readiness.
• Support integration with the HUSKY bus and mHAB systems, including power distribution, communications, RF payloads, data relay, and backhaul.
• Lead payload fit checks, functional verification, troubleshooting, and integration checkout activities in the lab and field.
• Join launches, demonstrations, and field exercises, supporting customers before, during, and after flight.
• Coordinate customer programs, logistics, documentation, training, field kits, and continuous improvements to integration processes.

Requirements

• 3+ years of engineering or technical experience in field service, integration and test, systems integration, or test engineering.
• Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience and demonstrated support for integration, testing, or field operations programs.
• Ability to learn complex hardware systems quickly and communicate effectively with customers and engineering teams.
• Strong organizational skills, including managing logistics and multiple concurrent programs.
• Customer-first, proactive approach and comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment with ambiguous requirements.
• Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident and located near Denver, CO.

Nice to have

• Experience with defense customers, military technology, or defense-adjacent environments.
• Familiarity with RF, tactical radios, software-defined radio solutions, network architectures, Ethernet communications, or embedded power systems.
• Experience with stratospheric, high-altitude, or aerospace systems.
• Background in systems engineering, program management, project management, or startup environments.
