What you will do

  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers integrating payloads onto balloon platforms.
  • Guide customers through the full integration journey, from interface definition to flight readiness and environmental testing.
  • Develop deep hands-on expertise in mHAB systems, bus platforms, and flight hardware including power, communications, and RF payloads.
  • Lead payload integration checkout activities, including fit checks and functional verification in the lab and field.
  • Support flight operations during launches, demonstrations, and field exercises, often on short notice.
  • Maintain the payload integration facility and develop technical documentation, checklists, and integration guides.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in field service, systems integration, or test engineering.
  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Must be located near Denver, CO.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 30–60%, including short-notice field deployments.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting skills with mechanical, electrical, and network hardware.
  • Strong communication skills for interfacing directly with customers and writing technical procedures.

Nice to have

  • Experience working with defense customers or former military experience in theater environments.
  • Familiarity with RF, tactical radios, SDR solutions, or network architectures (Ethernet).
  • Experience with stratospheric, high-altitude, or aerospace systems.
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Background in Systems Engineering or program/project management.
