What you will do

• Lead onsite NPI and board bring-up at JDM partner sites for custom PCBAs and robotic sub-assemblies.
• Develop robust C/C++ diagnostic and test firmware for microcontrollers, communication buses, and sensors.
• Design and maintain automated Functional Test (FCT) fixtures in collaboration with Hardware and Test Engineering.
• Root-cause system-level manufacturing defects using logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.
• Act as the primary technical link between US-based engineering teams and JDM partners in Asia.

Requirements

• Must be based in China or willing to relocate.
• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded, resource-constrained systems.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, PCB layouts, and component datasheets.
• Hands-on experience with NPI on factory floors (JDM, CM, or ODM).
• Experience debugging CAN, I2C, SPI, and UART communication buses.

Nice to have

• Professional working proficiency in Mandarin Chinese.
• Proven track record in taking robotics, automotive, or consumer electronics from prototype to mass production.
• Proficiency in Python for manufacturing test scripts and automation.
• Knowledge of robotics architecture (IMUs, absolute encoders, force-torque sensors).
