DCS Senior Application Engineer (Software)

Location: Taipei, Taiwan; onsite role with domestic and international travel to customer sites as needed

What you will do

• Support, manage, and maintain firmware for processor-based storage integrated circuits and reference designs.
• Collaborate with field application engineers, sales teams, and customer engineering teams to define requirements and deliver product support.
• Support system bring-up, board-level debugging, testing, product introduction, and transition to full production.
• Analyze customer architectures and software/firmware designs to provide post-production technical support.
• Lead or perform root-cause analysis for customer issues across cross-functional teams.
• Create customer-facing documentation, release notes, technical training, user guides, and application notes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 7.5 years of experience in firmware, software, or system design, debugging, and support.
• Strong system, software, and firmware development and debugging skills, including C and object-oriented languages.
• Experience with RTOS, embedded systems, ASIC and embedded application debugging.
• Experience using protocol analyzers, logic analyzers, and storage or networking test equipment.
• Functional spoken and written English is required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a related engineering field.
• Knowledge of SCSI, SAS, SATA, iSCSI, PCI, PCI Express, and Ethernet.
• Experience with MIPS or ARM processors, mass-storage firmware, kernel debugging, JTAG, serial ports, or Green Hills Debugger.
• Experience with oscilloscopes, DCAJ, BERT, project management, and Tier 1 OEM/ODM customer support.
