Principal Systems Software Developer

What you will do

• Advise customers on the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-core and multi-threaded systems.
• Provide customer guidance and deliver custom engineering services, including driver implementation and software porting.
• Debug complex systems using instrumentation, trace logging, core analysis, code reviews, JTAG, and other tools.
• Analyze unfamiliar codebases to identify architectural gaps, risks, and implementation issues.
• Improve boot-time performance and runtime data throughput.
• Develop prototype and demonstration systems, and participate in product reviews, design projects, enhancements, and testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field, with significant professional embedded software development experience.
• Architecture experience with QNX OS or its components, or with Linux/POSIX-based operating systems and kernel development.
• Extensive hands-on experience with C programming.
• Experience developing software for ARM and x86 processor architectures.
• Prior driver development experience.
• Strong communication, presentation, organizational, and collaborative customer-facing skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with real-time operating systems and multi-threaded programming.
• Experience considering functional safety requirements such as ISO 26262.
