Senior Data Engineer (AWS)

Location: US Remote; candidates must be eligible to work in the United States for full-time employment

Salary: $120,000–$150,000 per year

What you will do

• Build and maintain data lakes, data warehouses, and modern data pipelines across the full lifecycle.
• Develop clean pipeline code and infrastructure as code, including data testing and automation.
• Design scalable solutions with cross-functional teams and gather technical requirements.
• Monitor and improve performance, scalability, reliability, and security across data systems.
• Lead code and design reviews, mentor junior developers, and contribute to platform documentation.
• Support data governance, technology evaluations, continuous improvement, and an on-call rotation.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of related experience, or 3 years with an advanced degree, plus a bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with modern data architecture, data governance, analytics, and related data engineering practices.
• Hands-on experience with AWS big data technologies, including EMR, Glue, S3, EKS, Lambda, Athena, RDS, Kafka, and Kinesis.
• Strong knowledge of data engineering design, development, deployment, relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, SQL, and Python.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes or other containerized deployments, infrastructure as code, legacy data warehouses, and ETL pipelines.
• Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, mentoring, and independent delivery skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with multi-tenant B2B2C SaaS products.
• FinTech industry experience.
• AWS CloudFormation or Terraform experience.
• Understanding of MPP data warehouses such as Redshift or Greenplum.
