Senior Analytics Engineer (Snowflake/dbt)

Location: Needham, Massachusetts, or remote within the United States

Salary: $116,300–$155,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Onboard vendor REST APIs, SFTP and S3 file drops, and on-premises file shares into the data platform.
• Build and lead reliable orchestration pipelines with schedules, backfills, partitioned incremental loads, concurrency controls, checks, and tests.
• Design idempotent warehouse loads, manage alerting and incident triage, and control warehouse sizing and query costs.
• Develop and maintain staging-to-mart dbt Cloud models on Snowflake, including reusable Jinja macros, documentation, and tests.
• Define engineering standards for pipeline structure, configuration, secrets, reviews, and production readiness.
• Use AI coding tools for SQL, dbt models, scaffolding, and documentation while reviewing and testing their output.

Requirements

• Expert SQL skills and deep familiarity with Snowflake.
• Strong experience with ETL/ELT, data modeling, and dbt Cloud.
• Hands-on experience with Dagster or Airflow, including partitioning and backfills.
• Experience integrating third-party APIs and file feeds, including authentication and secret management.
• Production ownership of pipeline reliability, alerting, incident triage, and root-cause follow-through.
• 3–5 years of experience in data engineering and analytics, plus a relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree or professional certification related to data engineering.
• Experience defining team guardrails for AI coding assistants.
