Principal Software Engineer, Tooling (Product) (Web3)

TL;DR

Principal Software Engineer (Product/Web3): Designing and directing the technical architecture for a customer-facing platform focusing on onboarding, compliance, and customer support with an accent on scalability, reliability, and AI-assisted development. Focus on driving company-level initiatives, creating architectural visions, and advancing an agentic SDLC pipeline.

Location: Hybrid in New York, NY (required to be in person twice a week)

Salary: $192,500 - $275,000

What you will do

• Define the technical vision and architecture for the customer-facing platform, including onboarding, KYC/identity, and customer support.
• Lead company-critical initiatives from ambiguity through production and long-term operation.
• Drive the adoption of AI-assisted development and an agentic SDLC pipeline where agents plan and implement work.
• Review critical designs across organizations and set high-level engineering patterns and operational guidelines.
• Act as a technical multiplier by mentoring engineers and developing future leaders.
• Coordinate complex cross-org programs with interdependencies spanning multiple systems and teams.

Requirements

• 12+ years of software engineering experience building and operating complex production systems at scale.
• Proficiency in typed languages (TypeScript, Scala, Java, or Go) and JavaScript/TypeScript for web and mobile.
• Proven track record of driving architecture for company-level systems and managing hardest technical challenges.
• Experience building consumer-facing applications with strong product and UX sensibility.
• Fluency in using AI coding tools and a clear point of view on advancing agentic development.
• Must be based in New York City and able to work from the office twice a week.

Nice to have

• Experience in the crypto or fintech industry.
• Deep expertise in onboarding, identity/KYC, compliance, or customer support tooling.
• Experience architecting and operating AI agents or agentic workflows in production at scale.
• Familiarity with React, React Native, and cloud/microservices architecture.
